There’s something about Paris that changes the pace of people.
Maybe it’s the warm light reflecting off the stone buildings in the morning or the way the city invites you to slow down and notice small moments. Even after living in Paris years ago, every time I return, I feel that same atmosphere immediately: romantic, cinematic, layered with history and movement. Low-key, I’m planning on moving back permanently in the next year to fully immerse myself in the storytelling of this city, and help couples from all over do the same!
This editorial-inspired couples session along the Seine was built around exactly that feeling, and was shot on both digital and 35mm film with my Contax G1. We started along the Seine on the Rive Gauche, then walked to the Pont Royal that connects the two sides of the city right between the Musée d’Orsay (my favorite) and the Louvre and Tuileries Garden.
Instead of stiff posing or overly touristy imagery, we focused on creating photographs that felt natural, elevated, and deeply connected to the city itself. Long trench coats moving in the wind. Soft directional light bouncing off the river. Quiet in-between moments that felt more like stills from a European film than traditional portraits.
In this session with Diana & Sami, the neutral palette, classic tailoring, and soft spring light gave the entire session a nostalgic European feel that reminded me so much of vintage French New Wave cinema and old editorial spreads from the 1970s.
It’s the kind of imagery that feels effortlessly romantic instead of overly performative, but still fits so seamlessly in the Parisian landscape, complementing the architecture and vibes of the city. And after the session, the three of us sat in the Tuileries in the sunshine and had a coffee and chatted. The perfect way to end a session with lovely people, and such a uniquely Parisian thing to do! Scroll to see my favorite shots from this Paris couple photoshoot.
One of the things I love most about photographing couples in Paris is blending editorial direction with genuine connection for a combination of a documentary, in-the-moment style with a timeless look.
I’m always drawn to imagery that feels artful without losing emotion—photos that look polished and cinematic while still feeling alive and personal. During this Paris couple photo session, we leaned into movement, texture, architecture, and atmosphere to create something timeless and lived-in rather than overly epic or emotionally sterile.
Because I previously lived in Paris, photographing couples here feels incredibly personal to me.
Knowing the rhythm of the city, the quieter streets, how the light changes throughout the day, and the locations that feel both iconic and intimate allows me to approach destination sessions differently. I’m not just arriving with a Pinterest shot list—I genuinely know and love this city. I want your photos to feel like you weren’t just a tourist, but you lived here, too, in another life, and fell in love with the city just like I did.
That familiarity helps me guide couples into experiences that feel relaxed, immersive, and authentic while still creating elevated imagery with an editorial feel. Paris naturally lends itself to cinematic storytelling with all the:
It honestly feels impossible not to create something beautiful here.

Whether you’re planning a destination wedding in Europe, Paris engagement photos, a honeymoon photoshoot, a destination elopement in Paris, or simply want to document a season of your relationship in a meaningful place, my approach is always rooted in storytelling first. I want your images to feel:
The goal is never just “pretty photos in Paris” (although you’ll certainly end up with those!). It’s creating imagery that feels like you existed inside the city for a moment—fully present, fully yourselves, alive in a city that was made for love. 🤍
Paris is one of my favorite destinations for couples photography because it offers such a beautiful mix of elegance, texture, movement, and intimacy. Some of my favorite sessions happen early in the morning along the Seine, near historic architecture, or wandering quieter streets away from heavy tourist traffic.
