John and Allison hold a special place in my heart – their genuine warmth and kindness radiate in every interaction. So when they asked me to capture their intimate home pregnancy announcement and gender reveal, I felt truly honored.
The anticipation and excitement surrounding the arrival of their baby girl were palpable. We decided on a cozy, intimate setting at their stunning home for the photoshoot. The white walls provided a perfect backdrop, lending an air of purity and serenity to the photos. Shoutout to Allison for her BOSS interior decor skills! Dream home vibes.
As we embarked on the shoot, it was evident that this was more than just a session; it was a celebration of love, family, and the joyous journey into parenthood. John and Allison’s affection for each other and their unborn child was infectious, and I couldn’t help but smile as I witnessed their tender moments together.
Of course, no family portrait would be complete without their beloved doggo, Millie. She added an extra dose of charm and playfulness to the shoot, and absolutely did NOT want to sit still!
When it came to editing the photos, I wanted to encapsulate the raw emotions and fleeting moments of this special time in their lives. Drawing inspiration from the timeless beauty of film photography, I chose to apply a natural and filmy aesthetic using the Dawn Charles preset Pack 1. The result was a collection of images that not only captured the physical beauty of the moment but also the depth of emotion and connection shared between John, Allison, and their soon-to-arrive bundle of joy.
As I reflect on this experience, I am reminded once again of the incredible privilege it is to document such precious moments in people’s lives.
